Events to do on Your Own

Cove Creek Gardens:
With the arrival of spring Cove Creek Gardens, an organization which teaches the public about proper land stewardship through water and native plant conservation, needs volunteers to assist in maintaining the gardens. The Cove Creek Gardens are located at 4505 Summit Avenue in Greensboro.  If you are interested in gardening and would like to help Cove Creek Gardens call (336)-621-0611.

Student Litter Removal Committee (SLRC):
Spreading the word about the growing trash problem around the world. Pick up trash in specific locations; currently we are focusing our efforts on the stream near the tennis courts. We usually pick up trash at noon until one on Sundays. SLRC is unaffiliated with UNCG but hopefully it will be affiliated soon. I also have ideas about events that will let people know about the trash problem such as the Trash Weigh-in and Garbage Jeopardy. Anyone can join and there are currently no dues since it is anunaffiliated group."  For more info contact Nicolas Sam at njsam@uncg.edu.
