Information & Club Requirements
Fall 2009
BIO Club Meetings: Every other Wednesday at 5pm on the 3rd floor of the Science Building
TO BE AN OFFICIAL MEMBER OF BETA IOTA OMICRON Fall 2009, COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS BY THE END OF THE SEMESTER:
1) DUES – $10 for new members, $7 for official members from last semester
– To be paid to our treasurer, Luke, by September 30th
– You can pay him at the meetings or contact him to meet up another time
Due to complications with accepting checks from members, we will only be accepting cash for club dues.
2) CLUB HOURS/MEETINGS – Two options, you pick one:
–Option A: 10 Club Hours and 3 meetings per semester
–Option B: 15 Club Hours and no meetings
*Club Hours can be obtained Through BIO Club events, Club community service or individual volunteer work. All community service opportunities will be announced at the meetings and via email by our Community Service Chairs, Paiman or Reko. Please contact them with any questions about community service.
SOCIAL EVENTS – We encourage you all to attend our social events throughout the semester so we can all get to know each other. All details regarding social events will be announced at the meetings and via email by our Social Chair, Alex.
BIOLOGY DEPARTMENT SEMINARS – We encourage you all to attend the weekly departmental seminars in order for you to gain a better understanding of the current research being conducted and possible ways to implement your future degree in biology. They are held Wednesdays from 4-5pm in Room 200 of the Sullivan Science Building.
